Congratulations to you and your family!

Considering how “difficult” things are here in Las Vegas (an understatement), you stuck it out and won in the end!

A co-worker told me about the NACA process early last year…and I got the same bad reviews. I didn’t mind doing the classes, or doing whatever I had to do…but I wasn’t thrilled with the part of town the houses available at the time were in. Houses were nice, but not the area, at least in my opinion. I’ve been renting a house in the SW/Spring Valley area for the past 4 years…maybe I’ll revisit it if the cross-section of houses available becomes wider.

Thanks Kim! That means a ton to me. It feels surreal to be in my dream home. It’s such a great program, when your ready it might be a good option for you both. Can’t wait to meet the mini me’s though

I am tired of apartment living but financially John and I are at least 3-5 years away from home ownership. Still working on my patience just to have a mini-us! LOL.

Hi Victoria! Yes, I agree with the classes. I think if this type of counseling was offered to anyone wanting to purchase a home, there would be a lot less foreclosures. It has been a learning experience indeed. You got a short sale with a 30-day close..that is awesome in itself

Congrats! Love your blog. NACA seems like a great resource. I got down payment assistance last year. I was in a serious time crunch though because it was a short sale with a 30 day close. The class I had to take was very informative through the program. More people would benefit from such classes.
