-7803

Something missing with this delish egg dish right? Yaa.....coffee!!The perfect morning breakfast for me when it's winter or summer is NOW {and I say now because I only became an egg eater over the winter break 2011 - Thanks Toni} Last Year I boasted of my love for the Ambiance Coffee's and now that we now officially Ambiance Coffee Drinkers.  If I'm in the area we MUST stop at Smart & Final to grab up a few bags. After a long day at CES Monday, we took the kiddos to grab some dinner and we popped in to Smart & Final as well.  I'ts not super close to me so we definitely need to be out and about for me to shop there. This recipe is a perfect compliment to a hot cup of coffee.  We normally purchase the French Roast but there were so many yummy flavors, we decide to try the Costa Rican Tarrazu. Sounds Delish right! There are TWO really import things about this post that involves YOU....the reader: If you switch to Ambiance coffee from Smart & Final, you … [Read more...]

Savory Mashed Potatoes

IMG_0633-1

Being able to get the cooking out of the way for me is huge. Even though my hubby does a good chunk of the cooking, when I contribute it's fabulous for me to do it during the day. Uninterrupted and focus cooking. Of course when the kiddie pies are home I love to cook with them. But on a simpler scale. Since it's getting warm I wanted a couple comfort food recipes out of the way to pull out of the frig that I can heat up quickly. One of the things I can whip up {literally} for a quick heat up is SAVORY MASHED POTATOES.  I know...it's the easiest thing to do but when I see those boxes of potatoes on the shelves of grocery stores, I always wonder...why not just make it and freeze it? Here's Knorr's recipe for making easy Savory Mashed Potatoes: Start Here: You can find this recipe and other great recipes from Knorr HERE.   What are you making this weekend for din din? #LaRomanella inspired Ziti Casserole Dish

ZitiBakedCasserole

I'm sure you all have figured out we are true foodies in our house.  So much that I had to devote a whole section of my blog to all our favorite eats. Being a Smart & Final Smarties has been great!  One of the perks is getting these awesome baskets from their store brands like La Romanella; an italian selection of foods: This is pretty sweet right!!  La Romanella is running a promotion starting this week and part of the La Romanella promotion, Smart & Final is giving one winner a trip to Sonoma's wine country!  Make sure to go to Smart & Final's Facebook Page and "Like" the page to enter (winner must live within a 20 mile radius of a Smart & Final). I've been wanting to make something similar to lasagna but quicker and not so many steps to make.  Keep it simple right!! Even though Smart & Final sent this amazing gift basket, I still needed a few items for my one of a kind dish.  Plus, when you purchase a Redwood Creek Wine {because wine goes with … [Read more...]

What did you have for breakfast this morning? #GrilledEssentials

GrilleEssentials6

I've been posting dinner dishes all week but I wanted to sneak a breakfast quickie in because it's my favorite part of the day.  Love breakfast! I love to mix things up and not make it so traditional.  So My hubby has been buying Hilshire Farm Grilled Essentials to take to work for lunch salads but I thought I would try them out for breakfast.  And what better for breakfast than hashbrowns.  Yum!  Hashbrowns are pretty starchy so the extra protein will be a good balance. I ran to walmart because I think that's the only place that carries them right now, and make sure to really check out the whole section if you can't find it.  It's a bit hidden since it's so new.  I had the store manager help me out. [amd-zlrecipe-recipe:7] I haven't seen a box yet that didn't have a $.55/1 coupon attach so make sure you use it!  Enjoy. Chicken Salad with fresh Veggies, Bean & Tortilla Chips

IMG_0028

I love a big photo don't you??  We have been so busy that past two days I didn't get to post yesterdays recipe but my hubby still whipped out something good for everyone.  I know my biggest excuse when I eat fast food is the "time" issue. It's easier to eat out.  Sometimes it is but I think we are at a point in our family that eating in is a choice that we actually want an try to make happen. This was a 5 minute put together meal my hubby did and filled everyone's tummy's.  The best thing about this recipe is that you can vary it so much and prepare the meat of choice ahead of time. Frugal Sourdough Panzanella with grilled chicken

IMG_0075

This could be my very favorite so far and you can probably tell is little peanuts too.  This dish is easy, fresh and great for anyone who doesn't like to do too much and wants to please everyone.  If your just catching my full week of yummy frugal recipes, you can start here with Monday's recipe! This recipe is located on page 20 of the August/September Issue of Fine Cooking Magazine and of course varies slightly from their version.  I LOVE onions but my family does not.  So...my hubby omitted the onions to appeal to the mass...a.k.a. the kids and himself. You can grab Sourdough for this recipe for a really good price.  It would even be ok to grab the day old bread in the deli they sell for super cheap.  The crunchier the bread the better!  Here are some coupons to help with this recipe: Red Wine Vinegar - Heinz {sign up}  & Pompeian {smartsource} Olive Oil - Pompeian {smartsource} Hopefully you printed the Filippo Berio Olive Oil coupon from last week on … [Read more...]

Frugal Tomatoes and Mozzarella with tapanade recipe

Tomatoes_and_Burrata_with_tapanade

My huby has been doing P90X for about a year now and you can tell. He's quite so he's not looking for the light to be shined on him {love that] but I can't hide it anymore. He's not only has great workout ethics but has great cooking skills {I'm still in training}.  We are so driven by our loves!  Music, food, passion...it's all us!  When he made this recipe out of the Fine Cooking Magazine {August 2011 issue} I knew I had to share.  These are so easy!  and when your in the kitchen together with your little ones and the music is up, there couldn't be anything better! [amd-zlrecipe-recipe:3] When you click over to see Fine Cooking.com's version of this recipe it will be slightly different.  One of the items he knew he would change is the "Burrata".  We love cheese in this house but our little one's pallet is not yet that sophisticated.  So... mozzarella, we knew they would eat. You can find $1/1 Printable Coupon for Galbani Mozzarella Cheese RomaTomatoes are … [Read more...]

Have you tried Fruti 100% Natural Fruit Bars?

4

It's been a thousand degrees here in Vegas lately!!  Ok, maybe not a thousand but it's been pretty hot.  I know my kiddos love Popsicles when it gets hot but I'm super picky about the type of Popsicles.  Not that sugar is going to wire them up any more than they already are but, I do like to keep the sugar content down by buying all natural or making them myself. I knew we were going to spend Labor Day weekend with my parents chillin out, enjoying the pool, good food and great company!  On the way over I thought I would stop by Sam's club and pick up some treats. Have you ever heard of Fruti 100% Natural Fruit Bars? They sell them at Sam's Club in a box of 16 {4 boxes of 4 different flavors}.  The box of 16 sells for $8.98.  That's $.56 per bar.  For a healthy treat, that's a deal!! As you can see there are tons of others sugary options.....why is that?  Oh wait, we all know they taste yum but so does some of the healthy options as well.  There was only one … [Read more...]

#Clear American Water & Strawberry Cupcakes #CBias

ClearAmerican_Strawberry

Pin It This has to be the most frugal recipe, plus it's quick and yummy! I'm so glad my BFF shared a recipe with me. I did alter it but but it was still so good and more than likely few calories since I substituted regular soda for Clear American Water I got at Walmart.  And...if your an avid coupon shopper all but one of these ingredients should be in your pantry.  In preparation for my shopping trip I use ziplist.  I've only used it for a couple of months now but it's fabulous.  Here's the recipe for this easy shop: [amd-zlrecipe-recipe:2] I love the fact that I only need to ingredients.  Cake mix and water.  That's it.  Of course I always pick up liners when they're on sale and these were super cute.  Oh and when you click over to save this recipe to your ziplist, you can also make a shopping list...so cool! You can view additional images on my ThisMoment below I think next time I will add maybe a dollop of cream cheese to give it a bit more … [Read more...]
