Weekends are suppose to be relaxing right. It’s a time of having fun, getting recharged and ready for the coming week. I think my body at this point just said enough. Friday night came and I had my frugal plans of watching movies and enjoying the fam. Well, my hear started pounding and I had shortness of breath that wouldn’t go away. By Saturday morning I had to go to the ER. From there you can probably figure out what happened. I had 2 day room service and was the icon for a pin cushion.
I always say and tell others to enjoy life, take each day in and often times I forget to do this myself. I get “caught up” in the rigors of life and let it take me away. Having this experience this weekend, once again my eyes are open. I’m super happy this week to link up to my friend Katja’s post where she does her weekly chats on living life to the fullest. From my wild weekend I had plenty of time to think of things I want to do, places I want to see and ways to simply my life even more. My Instaweekend.
I made inventory of all the things I want to do. I’m sure you know this list as what most like to call a “Bucket List“. That fulfilled my need to start the process of getting out more, enjoying my family outside of our beautiful new home. That was one of the reasons why we wanted to purchase. So that we can save more money and travel more with our kids. They are perfect little travel companions now.
One of the things I’ve put off forever because it wasn’t on the financial necessity is getting my hair done at a salon. But I’ve made a commitment to myself that it will become a priority from this point forward. Even though Las Vegas is not by any means known for their African American hair dressers, I will make it happen.
I also want Braces – BADLEY!!!. Always have and I’m now putting that on my “save for list” because it just needs to be done. I love smiling! I will always do it.
If you have children, think back to when you didn’t. Do you remember having the time to sit in the bathroom and paint your nails? Or maybe give your own-self a facial? Or read a book from cover to cover because you just couldn’t put it down? I miss that pamper time that I use to give myself. It’s little inexpensive things that don’t cost much but can be done. Breathing slowly….taking in the day and your surroundings.
Everyday I am going to eat lunch. I mean really eat it. Not just make it and then sit in front of my computer and continue to work for hours straight. Working at home can sometimes take off those work restraints that our jobs put on. You know the ones you complain about while your doing them? Like taking a 15 minute brake. Or Going to lunch. Even the commute home. It’s all things that others outside of the home sometime take for granted and those working at home forget to do. Well, I’m doing it. 5pm hits…I’m getting off the computer, turning up my music that I love so…and doing the dishes (my commute) my transition to my evening.
