One of the things I loved about renting was it challenged me to create certain venues within our home without changing the structure of the room. This sounds like it would be the hardest things to do but to us it was the simplest. Not having to take down a wall, or nail something that has glue around it seemed simple enough. Well, now that we are homeowners the fear of taking out a wall or opening up a space and doing it on our own seems like the scariest place on earth. 
We actually took off that door, opened it wider and then couldn’t figure out how to get it back before inclement weather. I mean this would be the extreme in all problems but you never know, it could happen. One of my favorite places to go for not only inspiration but trained professional is Houzz.com. Have you been there? How did you find them? In my sidebar or are you an ole’ faithful like myself? It’s like pinterest but just for house stuff. And of course you can still pin from there but I never leave my dream rooms. I love it over there!
Doesn’t that little bit of side light seem to open up the whole room and flood it with light? I know we can do it but man is it scary! Or even adding additional lighting into the stairwell would be a HUGE difference. I can see it now…just opulence oozing from the top and bottom of the stairs.
I think for now, I’ll still tackle the small projects like this one. It’s not too difficult to paint chalk paint, right?:

I love seeing new ideas. One could sit around forever dreaming! It is funny though, how you do one thing when decorating at home and it then leads to another.
