This post is for submission to Project Mom Casting being held in New York at the BlogHer conference. Though I will not be attending this particular conference this year, I have a story I would love to share and be considered for
Introduction:
I am a mom of a set of 5 year old boy & girl twins, that manages and run 3 very different blogs with 3 different twitters and 3 different Facebook Fan pages and Friend Pages, whew…are you tired yet? After finding out we were having twins I had no choice but to quit my healthcare career and become a stay at home mom. Clueless as to what the future held for me, I tip toed into my new role leaving behind any previous identity I had with it.
My unique story:
I blog to keep my sanity and keep growing. That’s it in a nutshell. After loosing contact with the outside world when put on bed rest by my doctor, I learned very quickly that you will be left in the dust if you aren’t in some sort of loop. When I was put on bed rest slowly but surely friends stopped coming by until they just simply stopped calling all together. This was an eyeopening experience and rebirth for my new life.
I have 3 different blogs because I am a multi-facet woman. I love many things. These three are just the highlights. Deals, Cupcakes and Photography. Cross pollinating my blogs on one just didn’t feel right, so I created three separate ones. Would I do it different now? Hecks yeah!!! It’s a ton of work to maintain three separate tones. But one that drives me tremendously. Sitting still is something I just can’t do.
My Goals:
Deal Fanatic will most likely always be here. We have to eat, we have to clothes ourselves. The frugal shopper in me will always hunt out the deal, why not share it!
CupyCakey is my leisure spot. I post when something comes up that peeks my sweet interest. It’s great to have a special spot to do that and solely focus on that topic. Until the day sugar doesn’t love me anymore I will always have this blog.
LenzLove is me! Photography is something that is apart of my soul and hopefully I’ll be able to take pictures wee into my grey years. And hopefully just hopefully I’ll leave a legacy for my babies to witness in print. Becoming a full-time photographer would be my DREAM. I adore the exposure to so many different photographers, styles, philosophy and taste. Not having much professional training, I learn from reading and doing. Doing is the biggest part.
If chosen for this opportunity I would love to share with other stay at home parents how to not look at becoming a stay at home parent as something scary but yet an opportunity to revive what lies within. The opportunity to dig deep and find what truly defines you. After experiencing a tragic car accident leaving behind life scars, two miscarriages then multiples….life will give you a new set of eyes. I want to share mine!
