I wanted to update the folks who have oh so loyal during my family move and slower posts. I’m so grateful for you being patient with me. It’s always to bring you better deals and to help with the family budget.
So I have done so much research it’s crazy on the conversion from blogger to WordPress. Why do you ask am I doing this myself and not just doing a 1-click, or hiring a company to do it for me? Well, as you can see my blog is called Deal Fanatic and I would be doing a disservice to me and you if I did that, it’s all about getting the best for less. Let me tell you the two things that are holding me up right now:
- I already currently own my domain so I can not go over to WordPress, purchase my domain and take all the time I need to set things up. Need more info? Just comment and I’ll explain.
- I will NOT dip into my family money! I’m always appreciative when my readers click through to my links because it helps support site improvement ventures such as this one. So, that being said….I am waiting just a bit longer (not much though, maybe 5 more days)
That’s it. I’ve worked so hard at my current Blogger Blog, I believe I can do the install myself and install all of the plugins and make my site as user friendly as possible (and of course aesthetically pleasing).
So what features or key links would be helpful to you? Speak out and up! This is your opportunity to tell me what you would like to see in the new site. I’m taking in all suggestions. If you are a fellow blogger, speak up as well. I’ve found through this whole process that there isn’t much sharing of information (for free) amongst bloggers and I’m always open to chat…want proof? twitter.com/dealfanatic
Also, Here are the two Hosting sites I’m considering. If you have experiences with either please leave a comment:
- FatCow $66 Plan
- Benefits: $75 worth of Advertising credits with Google & Yahoo, Green Hosting
- 24/7 customer services (this is huge)
- 1 & 1.com
- Benefits:
$41 for first year & Trusted Name
- unlimited traffic w/ free domain s
- 24/7 customer services
- daily server back ups
Now I could be missing a bunch but I wanted to just highlight my key needs (I think..LOL)
The mic is open……………………….

I am in the process of making the big switch also. I have a lot on my plate and haven't been as active in the blogging community as of late, but I will soon be back up and running once I make the move. It's not easy though. Good luck!
